Absolutely loved our time at Cape Diem Lodge. We arrived late on a Sunday and everything from the communication beforehand letting us know the checking in arrangements, to the warm welcome and the extremely comfortable bed was excellent. Our initial stay was short as we were picked up for a safari the next morning but upon returning to the lodge, we were greeted just as warmly and thoroughly enjoyed the rest of our stay. The location is excellent - close enough to really good bars and restaurants, as well as the V&A Waterfront, but you can still enjoy a tranquil and relaxing time sitting by the pool with a drink, forgetting that you're that close to the hustle and bustle. Breakfast was a definite highlight (the eggs benedict was a particular favourite) and all the staff were so friendly and happy to help with any advice needed. This was our first time in Cape Town and we'll definitely be back, and most certainly will be staying at Cape Diem Lodge when we return.

The staff at the Cape Diem were the best ever. From the night porter that welcomed us with a welcome drink and helped get us settled, to the day managers Bianca and Melina that were so attentive and made our stay special. They helped with booking drivers to take us to the Cape of Good Hope, explore the wine country to dealing with a troublesome credit card which had expired. They were incredible hosts and we would stay there if staying in Cape Town again. The breakfasts were made to order, tasty and filling, Wonderful, beautiful;, comfortable boutique hotel that met all of our needs. It was also easily walkable to the Victoria and Alford center with great restaurants and attractions. PERFECT in every way. One of our best stays anywhere

The team here are excellent Bianca, Samuel, Bob and the ladies and gentlemen at breakfast and during the evening. It’s like a home and there is a nice relaxing atmosphere. The breakfast is good with cold and cooked options (or both). There is good communal space inside and outside to relax. The location is near the v and a a little uphill about 15 min walk, i think it’s best to Uber most places as it’s cheap and you won’t be waiting more than 2 mins for a taxi. The ideal location to do some day trips from and explore different parts of Cape Town as a base. They offer a glass or wine or drink early afternoon which is a nice touch before heading out for the evening. I would recommend to others.

The hotel has a nice swimming pool and rooms are nicely modeled. The building complex has a lot of history, and the hosts share a lot of this in books and pictures. The Eggs Benedict were a highlight. The hotel also offered free Cape wine in the evening. Parking in front was no problem; in theory the garage also is available (was full when we arrived and we just kept the car outside). Location is good: Walking distance 10' to Goodman Gallery, <30' to CBD and Waterfront, 5' uphill to a trail on Signal Hill through the fynbos (and onwards to Liion's Head if you're up for it). In Capetown, you hike in groups for security reasons.

Breakfast's were excellent with plenty of choice and freshly cooked food to order. Lovely coffee! The complimentary Sundowner was also a very nice touch. All staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them which made our stay very comfortable. Daniel & Bianca have an excellent team who looked after us well. We stayed 4 nights initially and then returned for a further 2 nights after travelling further afield and they were happy to store some luggage that we didn't need to take with us. We also took advantage of the Airport transfer arranged by the lodge which worked perfectly.
